7th grade- Complete Analysis and conclusions questions (back side of) Breathe easy laboratory investigation from class today.

Tuesday-

6th grade- Answer TB p. 496 # 1-7 (answer in sentences or thinking maps)
7th grade-Finish outline ch 10 lesson 2 & answer TB p. 411 # 2-5, 7, 8 (use sentences!)

Wednesday-

6th grade- Study for ch 11 quiz tomorrow (lessons 1 through 4)
7th grade-Finish outline for ch 11 lesson 1 & answer questions at end

Thursday-

6th grade- bring in a pictuer of a place where an organism lives (please avoid having it be a human's habitat; the picture could be hand drawn, or print out, or post card, or taken from a magazine, photo, etc.)
7th grade-Finish outline for ch 11 lesson 2 & answer questions at end

Friday- reminder: today is early dismissal at noon

all classes: refill supplies in backpack (binder paper, pencils, red pen, blue/black pens, etc)

Over the course of the year I have been asked a few times about how to see a student's current grade using Portal. Since the list of work & scores do not show up in the most obvious of places, I figured I would pass the information along to all of our families....

1st - Log in to Portal

2nd- Select the link titled "schedule" (on the left side); a frame should appear with your student's schedule. Each class listed has a little icon that looks sort of like a miniature notebook - this is actually a link.

3rd- Click on the notebook icon. You should now be able to see your student's recent progress report grades, their current grade (shows up as second semester - this is the up-to-date, cumulative grade for the semester so far) AND a list of all assignments the teacher has entered into the grade book so far

4th- Repeat the process of going back to "schedule" and clicking on the icon for each class.

Note: Teachers can enter an assignment without entering the scores (usually the assignment was either recently assigned or collected & will be entered later .... usually the case if the "score" column is empty, the teacher has yet to enter the assignment.

Also .... Some teachers are recording missing assignments as 0 (zero points), others are marking the assignment as missing ... either way, the assignment counts against the student. If an X is in the box, it means the student was excused from the assignment and it will not count against them.

Monday- all classes finish classwork

6th grade- ch 9 lesson 2 worksheet (top portion) provided by Mrs. K.
7th grade- 3 types of muscle tissue & comparing voluntary/involuntary muscle thinking maps.

Tuesday- all classes finish classwork

6th grade- ch 9 lesson 2 worksheet (bottom portion) provided by Mrs. K. on Monday
7th grade- thinking maps page about levers (both sides) goes with ch 9 lesson 2

Wednesday- all classes finish classwork

6th grade- complete thinking map on air currents from class -illustrate & define each term (note 1° and 3° have 2 had more group presentations to complete on jet stream & 3 cell model so these two may be completed on Thursday)
7th grade- 3 types of muscle tissue & comparing voluntary/involuntary muscle thinking maps.

Thursday- all classes finish classwork

6th grade- finish ch 9 review sheet from class & be sure the thinking map on air currents is completed.

6th grade- Answer Standards Check Questions p. 390 # 3 through 8.  Make a thinking map for # 3, can do #9 for extra credit.
7th grade- finish joint classification chart

Thursday-

6th grade- Study chapter 9 lesson 1 (quiz Friday), & do ch 3* WIGWAP  (1° only- the printed score on the quiz may be different than the score entered in the Portal (higher or lower by two points) because we found at the end of the period my answer key was incorrect.  The score entered in the Portal is correct; I will provide students with corrected scores for this quiz for you tomorrow (Friday, 3/23).  This error was corrected before 2° and 3° received their results.)
