Thursday's quiz topics include chapter 2 lesson 3, and will also review of prior topics.  SciNB p. 20 gives a ideas for studying so students my be prepared.  To help students review prior topics, I'd suggest reviewing the last quiz, as well as the old papers and SciNB pages)

Absent Monday?  Today we answered common questions about the mini-project, returned a number of papers, changed seats, and wrote the weeks homework.  If there was additional time available during the class period, we started on Wednesday's homework and/or worked on the mini-project.

Hello Parents of students in Science with Mrs. Fischer,

The last few weeks have passed quickly and we are already learning about Mapping the Earth's Surface!  I am enjoying getting to know your students in class.  Most of our students are remembering to complete their weekend homework (which they already wrote in their planners and is posted on the the classroom web page).  As students are organizing their backpacks, and binders, please remind them to save their Science papers - in a few weeks students will be given a list of completed papers which will be collected & checked for credit.  You can track your student's progress in class by checking the Parent Internet Viewer (PIV).  I have entered a number of assignments although there is one assignment that is listed in PIV that I am still grading.  Passwords are available through the school office.

Finally, a quick reminder that the Community Club Membership drive is about to end; first period teachers distributed the membership forms at Back to School Night and many families have already joined.  Although the drive officially ends this week, it's not too late!  You can download the form from the bottom of the Bret Harte website (click here automatically link to it) and have your student return the completed form to their first period teacher or the office.
