6th grade- Rewrite/type rock & mineral notes (neatly) onto different paper from composition book
7th grade- Classifying Organisms Crossword puzzle

6th grade- Rock/mineral project due Thursday  
7th grade- Answer the 4 Reading Check questions from Textbook pages 244-251.  (Reading Check questions are located on p. 245, 247, 249, 250.)

Wednesday-

6th grade- Rock/mineral project due Thursday
7th grade- Finish classwork

Thursday-

6th grade- Study for Rock/mineral quiz tomorrow (chapter 2 lesson )
7th grade- Study for quiz on ch 6 lessons 1 and 4 tomorrow.

Friday- Enjoy weekend!

6th grade- Rock/mineral research ..... assignment of the rock/mineral is based upon different criterion for each class - explained below....you may click the blue underlined link to help you ...

first period mineral list: mineral must start with your first initial, and end with -ist
second period rock list: rock must start with your first initial,
third period list: You were assigned a state, research either the rock or mineral for the state you were assigned   .... unfortunately some states have neither a state rock, nor a state mineral.  I will assign a different state to you in class if your assigned state has neither a state rock nor a state mineral.

Has animations showing the movement of volcanic ash after a volcano puffs out the ash.  (Has Mt. St. Helen's half way down the page)

Information on the Redoudt 1989 eruption - an airplane flew into the ash cloud in/near Alaska; all  4 engines stopped.  Had to descend, where engines restarted, and made an emergency landing in Alaska.    http://puff.images.alaska.edu/Redoubt_webpage/Puff_redoubt_ash.shtml

Tuesday-

6th grade- write an MLA format bibliography entry for p. 305 of textbook
7th grade- write one paragraph (4-6 sentences) about the natural selection of cuttlefish (use your thinking map from class)

Wednesday-

6th grade- research your volcano  ..... volcanoes were assigned in class today for this Volcano Project.... click here to access assignment information and copies of the assignment.
7th grade- threatened / extinct / introduced species

Thursday-

6th grade- finish volcano project (due Friday for early etra credit, OR Monday for regualr credit - click on link to assignment information)

7th grade- Answer TB p. 217 # 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9.  (use Full Complete Sentences and Restate the Question and/or create Thinking Maps)
         imprtant for 7th graders: be sure to finish answering the 7 questions from Friday's computer activity!  (can click here for links and questions)

Tuesday-

6th grade- Finish pages 1 through 3 of Volcano tab booklet
7th grade- RE p. 64-68 - (these pages are in the packet we stapled together on Friday)   Read, highlight main ideas, answer questions.

Wednesday-

6th grade- RE p, 82-84 - Read, highlight main ideas, answer questions.
7th grade- Read TB p. 221-223, answer TB p. 227 # 1, 3, 4, 5, 7.  (use Full Complete Sentences and Restate the Question and/or create Thinking Maps)
